Page jumping to reply box

This last week i've noticed that if i go to reply to a thread, write a bit, then change my mind and instead delete it, every time that i then open that thread, the page jumps to the reply box... it's even bypassing my bookmarks to do it.

The cursor is in the reply box flashing, and nothing i try will make it stop.

Any idea why? or how to stop it?

just to add.. the only way i've found to 'fix' it so far is to actually post a reply.. but surely that shouldn't be happening.

Hi @WinterBones, thanks for letting us know about this. Please could you share a few more details so that we can figure out what is causing this.

  • Is this happening on every thread you try to write on, or just specific ones
  • What type of device are you using to access mumsnet (e.g. iphone 11)
  • Are using the app or the website
  • If you're on the website, which browser are you using (chrome, safari etc)
Thank you!

Ok, here you go.

Its every thread i start to reply on, then cancel/delete what i've written in the message box. When i come back to the thread, it immediately jumps to the message box with the cursor flashing.

Im using a laptop, so on the website, and using Microsoft Edge

Thank you - please could you try clearing you cache? To clear your browser cache and cookies on Edge, go to:

  1. Settings
  2. Clear browsing data
  3. Select Ctrl+Shift+Del.
  4. You can also type "edge://settings/clearbrowserdata" in your address bar to access this function.
Let us know if that works.
