New app. Don’t blame the testers!

I was in the test group and gave quite a lot of the feedback that is being brought up by users since the new app launched. I assumed that some of my feedback was acted on, some not and some simply not possible. I did stick to the old app right up to the last which tells you something. Here is some of my feedback:

Too much white space
What’s the difference between Active and Trending and For You?
Don’t like emojis in a line, blurry
Tardis missing
I like the post preview
Can’t flip posts that have been filtered by poster
When I go to a thread where I’ve put a bookmark, I prefer to go straight to the bookmarked post with “jagged edge” at top
Stop people reposting whole first post
Can’t copy a small section of a post and bold it with **
Colour highlighting my posts and OP’s too similar
Search function confusing
I like being able to see how many new posts there have been since I bookmarked a post
Would like to see how many thanks each post gets
Would like to see where I have thanked

Hello @Davros thank you for testing the app and for all your feedback. As AmeliaPMumsnet said on the other ss thread, we released an update on Android this morning that includes the same fixes we rolled out on iOS earlier this week.

The update includes the following:

• Removed the extra step when flipping a thread.
• Truncated the OP when you flip a thread.
• You can now remove deleted threads from your watching list.
• Fixed an issue where threads weren’t always opening in the right spot when accessed via bookmarks, notifications, etc. This should now be more consistent, though we’re still fine-tuning it.

We’re continuing to review all of your feedback and hope to make changes soon to address problems with text size and more.

Ok thanks. No plans to change the background colour? And what about filtering by poster and flipping that shortened thread? Also being able to select text from a thread and cut and paste the selection rather than only being able to quote a whole post?

I don’t blame the testers, I blame MN for either not having enough and/or not listening to what testers reported.

@BeckyAMumsneton threads ‘I’m on’ why doesn’t it take me to the new posts?
Instead it takes me right back to the very start of the thread, which means I have to manually scroll to find the new posts… which is nuts if it’s a really long thread.
