Ads making site impossibly slow

Is anyone else having problems with the site loading? I’m on iPad and it’s almost unusable. A few posts will load, then I scroll down to find it stops halfway through a post.

Sometimes, if I wait a while, the advert appears and then the rest of the posts (or sometimes just a few and I have to wait again). Quite often, the only way I can shift the frozen screen is by closing Safari and reopening. Editing is no longer possible as it freezes then too.

I’ve had these problems before, a while back, but it was resolved. I’d really appreciate it if it could be fixed again, because I love Mumsnet, but it’s not sustainable to use it like this.

Hi there @PriOn1 Do you know which ad was causing this issue? If you can send us a screengrab next time it happens - or better still a link to the url of the ad when you click on it, we can take a look. Or if the ad isn't fully appearing, if you could send us a link to the page of the site you were on when everything started slowing and glitching.

If we can work out which ad is causing the problems we should be able to fix it.

Thanks Flowers

Hi Kelly. Unfortunately it’s constant, rather than being any one particular ad. I suspect my iPad has very little space on it, which is a shame as it’s not that old. The ads take ages to appear and then, if they’re changing and refreshing, it just never reaches equilibrium so I can read the thread. Safari still works okay on some sites, others are slow. It’s only Mumsnet that is unusable. It’s still working on my phone though, so I guess I’ll have to use that. Given nobody else has chimed in, it’s probably a problem with my iPad and not your site. Thanks for responding.

No worries @PriOn1 . Let us know if there's anything else we can do to help.
