Honestly? I’ve had to stop using Mumsnet because the new app is SO SO bad. But I just woke up early and thought ‘I’m 46, maybe I need to accept change.’

Nope. Shite on close examination, too. Impossible to read long threads because the thread randomly launches halfway through and then often crashes or freezes when trying to get back to the beginning or filter by the OP’s posts. Crazy large font. Search function completely busted.

I don’t know if the content has deteriorated because so many people feel the same way, but the current threads also include many very short threads and the topics seem less juicy.

The old app worked perfectly well. I am not going to post again or continue to engage with the site unless something changes.

It’s so annoying that you can’t open DMs on it still.

The bookmark function isn't working for me now I've updated to the new app. Seems to open at a random post.

Same, it’s dreadful, I think my 23 year addiction may be coming to an end.

I haven’t tried the apps, I’ve always used the mobile site which generally works fine. Are there some things about the apps that are better than the web?

It works fine for me. The only thing that's a bit annoying is the flip to see the newest posts. Otherwise no issues at all.

Could you let us know what device you're using? And would you mind taking a screen recording of the issues you're experiencing with threads launching halfway through, crashing, or freezing? If you could send that to us at [email protected], it would be super helpful.

We've also had quite a bit of feedback about the font, so we're looking into what changes we can make there.

The flip for the newest posts now has an extra button to press which is a pain

I'm not experiencing the font problem described (android, app).

If the flip thread button thing is fixed, hoping it will involve only one button when fixed, and it would be really handy to have that at the bottom of the screen.

One thing I've noticed today is if I have a reply in the comment box and have to abandon it for a few minutes, when I come back the reply is gone, but the box remains. Tapping the comment box makes no difference. Leaving the thread, I receive a notification asking if I want to continue editing or cancel. If I choose to continue editing, nothing happens - my unfinished post is still gone.

You have to ask the question of how MN do testing and to be blunt, the quality of their developers. What’s produced is shocking and shouldn’t make it out the door.

Why not just use the site instead of the app?
I'm on my phone, on Chrome, viewing all posts on one page, dark mode, no issues.

But the old app was much nicer to use than the site.

I’m fine with the app but I hate that at the end of a thread you have that stupid “that’s all” message.

The site constantly reloads, really annoying when reading a thread and everything disappears for a second while it reloads. (Safari on iPhone)

What is the For You list about? It’s just a load of random threads!

The mobile site on my iPhone is fine. I don’t understand why you’d bother with the app, all I’ve heard about it is not having the features the rest of us have. What’s the point of it?

Agreed. It is very annoying.

Do you use an ad blocker or something? I don’t know why my iPhone keeps reloading constantly.
