Since I've had to disable my adblocker in order to use MN, I've got used to scrolling past the adverts surprisingly quickly.

BUT I cannot cope with the moving ads. The video ads at the side of the screen are actually making me feel nauseous.

So before I admit defeat and sign up to Premium, can users guarantee that it is completely ad-free?

Also (and more importantly) how safe will my debit card details be with you @MNHQ?

Thanks.

I thought it was just fewer ads?

AlexandrinaH · 04/03/2025 13:11

Oh I’ve just looked and it does say zero ads, so you would hope that’s the case.

Soontobe60 · 04/03/2025 13:12

I never see ads.

CantHandleMovingAds · 04/03/2025 13:18

@AlexandrinaH yes that's what confused me because I was sure MNHQ had said in the past that you just see 'fewer ads'.

Thanks @Soontobe60 that's good to know.

Still worried about my debit card details but might take the plunge anyway.

Ok I've bitten the bullet and signed up for a month.

Thank God the bloody ads have gone.

Can't see how to filter user posts but I'm not bothered about that 🤣

Hi there @CantHandleMovingAds ,

There are some Q&As here which should answer all your questions but briefly here's what we say there:

  1. Premium members won't see any ads – this includes the image-based ads that tend to take up bandwidth and slow down page loading times and also text-based native ads – usually promoting offers or Mumsnet's own content.
  2. All customer payment details are kept securely by an online payment processing company Stripe. Stripe is a leader in payment protection and has security packages that protect you from all forms of fraud. Mumsnet does not collect or keep your payment details.

Hope that helps!

Thank you @KellyMumsnet it does 👍

@CantHandleMovingAds I use the app and don’t get any ads at all. None

AnxiouslyAwaitingSpring · 05/03/2025 15:56

Ps not a premium user either

CantHandleMovingAds · 11/03/2025 22:57

Ok, I'm still using Premium but I'm now getting this in the middle of a thread?

Are they not classed as adverts?

I also don’t get any ads on the app. Not a premium member either.

Hi again @CantHandleMovingAds. That screengrab looks like editorial content we think, so no, those won't be classed as ads and Premium users will still see those.
