The villa was beautiful and it was perfectly quiet too! There were no screaming kids anyway. (Damn those ex-childminders, they're worse than reformed smokers! )

We sampled all the local food and really got in with the local people. DH has come back with a host of new recipes to try!

DH and DD did some scuba diving and DD was a natural. Not a bad thing to have under your belt at 12! She wants to do PADI course now and become a marine biologist!

The weather was fab too. DD, of course turned a beautiful shade of bronze within hours of being there and I've got a red nose to show for my week in the sun!

We saw the giant turtles in the sea. They are just starting to come in to nest, on the beach that we were staying on. They just swim along side you, quite amazing!

All in all, a truely wonderful holiday and
DH has even sworn never to raise his eyes to heaven when I'm on Mumsnet again!

Ggirl, we stayed at Periyali Villas, which is at the far end of the Island on Turtle Beach, near Porta Roma. Where are you staying? If its reasonably close to where we were, I have a top tip for 2 excellent restaurants!

how the cover job?

Cover job is going well thanks SEA. It was almost a shame to have tomiss a week actually, so I must be feeling positive about it! I was just starting to get some respect from the kids and get a bit of rappor with the little darlings! I was wearing a visitors badge for the first week, so they couldn't care less about being nice to me, but now I have an offical staff one, so they have to think on, as I'm sticking around!

Hi Pollylogos, I'm currently living very close to Neapolis, Lakonia. Moving to Athens in July though.

There are a couple of other posters on mumsnet who are in Athens although they don't post often. (or at least I don't see their posts!) Maybe we'll all have to have a meet up sometime! Where will you be in Athens?
