Suggestion to cancel link prettification

I think it would be helpful if you removed he option to hide links under text.

I know it’s possible on mobile to see what the link is by hovering over it, but it’s all too easy at the moment to just open a link without thinking. If the only option was to show the URL, it would be harder to trap people.

Maybe it could be done as a one off for your Christmas Puzzle?

The trolls managed to share child abuse images as link previews. MNHQ have stopped that, but it’s still all too easy to name a link something like my new dress & have people click on it without checking what the link actually is.

Bumping this since I think it got lost.

I know it’s impossible to stop trolls posting dodgy links, but if they were unable to hide the URLs then at least users might be less likely to click on them.
