Random PMs

I’ve had a couple of PMs from users this morning with no posting history and it’s making me somewhat uncomfortable given the recent issues around spamming with illegal content etc. It looks like general chit chat “Hi how are you, what are you doing?” type stuff not related to threads I’m on. Anyone else getting anything similar?

We've identified the user in question and have banned their account. While there's nothing overtly suspicious at this stage, we don’t feel it’s quite 'on the level' for someone to join and immediately start private messaging users.

If you have any concerns about private messages you've received, please do report them to us - just like you would with a post. We're always happy to take a look.

I think I had a couple a while back but didn't bother responding or reporting. One was about my son (don't have one - might have been a genuine mistake) and honestly can't remember what the other one was about.

I guess if I strongly wanted to show support I might message someone but none recent :)

Sounds like this person was a bit random but we're on edge at present with images
