In view of the announcement today from the GPhC, is it still appropriate to allow discount code promotion?

How so?

The new guidance (which I've not read, just seen reports of) has something in it highlighting how online pharmacies must follow rules around promoting medication, something about loopholes used to allow discount deals.

In that you don't see other POM promoted in this way. As in "sign someone up for (ie) an asthma inhaler, get a discount on yours". It seems unethical and inappropriate for a POM.

Well yes, the NHS funding the medication would probably have a huge impact on reducing the use of promo codes

I do think they should not appear on active threads, and only be available to those who are looking for them. So that you're not roping in people who wouldn't otherwise be seeking out the injections. We're trying to help each other save money, not just line the pharmaceutical pockets
