There’s something funny going on with the site at the moment

Lots of crashing, freezing and having to hard quit safari as it spangs all my other windows too. Phone overheating. Have emailed @mnhq but nothing back yet.

@JoMumsnet @HebeMumsnet @LilyMumsnet @BeckyAMumsnet

Is there anything you can do about this?

@mnhq I can do a screen recording of how my phone is responding to your site if you want me to send

its really concerning. Overheating issue is getting quite serious, it’s clearly being caused by MN.

GildedRage · 21/01/2025 01:55

you clicked on something at some point and now have this mckaffe virus type issue.
hopefully you have some family with IT skills to review where it's attached itself and can delete it.
i get my son to remotely log on and it doesn't take him too long to spot where it's located.
and yes i've occasionally been caught clicking on some headline that's too unique to be true such as "biggest reservoir drained dry".

Hi @DanFmDorking. Thanks for dropping us a line. We are aware of this problem and are working on it as we speak but no solid news for now. As soon as there's any update we'll post in Site Stuff and let everyone know.

@HebeMumsnet I have just had this pop up on my computer for the first time since I started using MN and wonder if you have an update since your post in January.

I do find it interesting that I have just disabled my Adblocker and this seems too much of a coincidence.

HebeMumsnet · 17/03/2025 11:19

Hi there @FiveShelties. This has been resolved but unfortunately is still popping up occasionally again, and has been affecting a few sites. Could you tell us where you were when you saw the ad and we'll do our best to track it down and deal with it again.

HebeMumsnet · 17/03/2025 11:41

We've just been having a hunt for it now with no luck @FiveShelties . If you (or anyone else seeing this pop up) are able to provide any of the following, that would be enormously helpful. Thank you in advance Flowers

URL of the page the ad was seen on:

@HebeMumsnet sorry I cannot remember which thread I was on. I will make a note if it happens again - hopefully not.

Thanks for your help.

@HebeMumsnet

I have just had this pop up again - I was reading the 'Not invited to sister-in-laws wedding' thread.
