Can't delete emojis?

I can't delete emojis

I can if they're keyboard ones, but not if they're from the MN emoji feature.😃

FFS I just posted by accident while trying to delete that smiley face!

So yeah, emojis from the MN emoji selection (the smiley face on the bottom right of the comments box) won't delete. You can't even highlight and cut them, which is the fix I'm used to for the MN tags that won't delete.

Using an S10 with latest version of both android and chrome btw.

I've had the same thing but I've found that, if you add text immediately before and after the emoji, you can then highlight and cut it.
I love the Mumsnet emojis by the way so I hope we can keep them.

I don't mean just the old style MN emojis, I mean any emoji that you get from the MN emoji menu by clicking the smiley face. I can only delete keyboard emojis.

I've had the same thing when I've accidentally tagged the wrong poster. It's entirely impossible to remove the tag from the box. I've tried everything, but the grey tag is there forever.

Oh I've had that too @saraclara . The only thing I've found that works is to log out of Mumsnet completely, log back in and start again.

Hi there @YampyYamYam. This is something that has been a problem for a while unfortunately and we haven't been able to solve easily. It seems to be a specific browser issue that we can't work around without completely replacing the editor, which isn't in our current plans we're afraid.

The only workaround for now is to try switching browsers, but we appreciate that you may not want to do that. Sorry we can't be of more help.

Morning @YampyYamYam and others! Good news - we have put a fix in place for this. There is a bin icon in the message field now. If you tag someone, you can select the bin icon and this will clear all text (not just the username) in the message field. Hope that helps.
