Can we have a few more reaction emojis?

I feel we're missing a shock/surprise one. And just now, reading a few replies to a reasonable question, I think we need a "stop being a rude dick" one as well.

OP posts:

And iOS. It’s no better than the Android one. All you can do is read threads (and filter OP posts).

Why would anyone want another app clogging up their phone? Do you not just use the website on your phone/tablet?

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 03/01/2025 14:09

PLEASE move the reaction button to stop those of us who scroll with our left thumbs constantly hitting it accidentally, which then obscures the text of the posts!

My phone has never been clogged

WillItSnowTonight · 03/01/2025 14:41

I’d prefer to return to ‘thanks’ as I’ve had laughter emojis to serious and sincerely supportive comments. They have been reported but nothing has happened.

I do, 90% of the time.

Also how come anonymous users can use those emojis? It's a bit odd imo

Hi all

Thanks so much for the suggestions/feedback - much appreciated. We'll have a chat about this in the office,

Please!

Yes this! I have no reactions on it, nor can I see any PMs. I might have loads that I've not answered as can't see them 🤔

Sorry, was supposed to quote this post 🤦‍♀️

Meredusoleil · 04/01/2025 07:06

Also no edit button on the app 😬

notatinydancer · 04/01/2025 09:19

@AlexandrinaH you can reply to comments and start new threads on the app.
I can't reply to comments that have already been replied to.
Also can't read PMs or edit in the app.

You could use normal emojis 😲

MrsOvertonsWindow · 04/01/2025 10:29

A RTFT emoji would be very useful !

Lonelycrab · 04/01/2025 10:44

Put it back to how it was please @LilyMumsnet

When you actually look at these emojis, you’ve essentially added just one new thing- the laugh emoji, which as has been pointed out, is being often used to mock posters (have had these used on my posts like this already)

The other 3 emojis essentially mean the same thing- clapping hands, thumbs up and heart icon are basically identical in their meaning.

So just bring back the thanks and scrap these emojis.
