MNHQ: Asleep at the wheel

Happy new year all.

A few weeks ago a thread was started. I was going to comment but it was pulled by MNHQ before I hit post.

Today the exact same thread has been (re)started. I've reported it, and it's still growing and sucking in posters.

So was the original deletion a mistake ? Or have the deletion criteria been changed ?

Sometimes consistency is far more important than accuracy.

Well done. This time I didn't post anything serious 😀

Ooh, asleep at the wheel is a wee bit harsh! We've already responded to several hundred reports this morning - it's been incredibly busy and we're doing our best to get through them all as quickly as we can.

We've just seen your report (received at 10.58am) and have now dealt with the thread in question. The OP was a previously banned poster so we've shown them the door (again!) and have deleted the thread.

It's the day after New Year's Day.

Plenty of places are busy working on skeleton staff.

Almost everyone I know isn't back at work until Monday (me included).

I think some slack needs to be cut here 🤷‍♂️

Harsh. It's not like lives will be lost if some silliness remains on the internet for half an hour longer than usual, is it? Mods probably have lives going on around them, it still being the holidays- plus a lot of bored kids are off school and looking for amusement by posting silliness on the internet. Can people volunteer to moderate? Perhaps you could, if so.
