I'm sorry to say it, but Mumsnet is really really crap

I bet that got you clicking fast, ready to fight, didn't it?

It's so SLOW! Pages take eons to load, then sometimes you get the mumsnet top bar all the way down to Useful Stuff, but it's blank below that. Click on a thread and go make yourself a cuppa and maybe, just maybe when you get back it'll be up!

Now I KNOW it's not my computer - because every other page is fine. In fact, when I click to something else, it feel like lightening speed! Internet bank, other forums, tesco online...all run fine come back to here and it freezes up again!

Now. I am wondering if the site is just too big? Too many threads, topics, stuff in archives? Or what?

There must be something wrong, because just take a look at how many threads are started complaining about how slow MN is!

I know, same here. I get irrationally wound up about it.

It's fine in Mozilla.

Not as slow as my local blardy council's website.

Yes, it is slightly faster in mozilla for me too. But today that one's been closing itself down every time I log onto mumsnet (but not when I log onto any other site) It's a conspiracy I tell you!

It has just started doing this again for me , i usually switch to mozilla when it does

well having said that I'm on it now (well Firefox actually) and it's ok, but it was slow this morning, and AWFUL last night.

It's the ad loader I think- Hillary's blinds in particular is causing problems. I've sent them an email a while ago - but if you all report this thread then they might get the message!

I thought it was my computer, so I'm quite relieved to know I'm not alone.

I emailed them the other day, because it seemed to be freezing and in the bottom corner there was some ad.ad something or other, can't remember now. They emailed back, they were polite, but I think they thought I was a sad old cow!

I've been blaming the IT dept here at work. Thought they'd deliberately done it to entice me off MN and back to getting some work done!
