Another Qatar ad complaint

Hi Mumsnet I posted on the other thread but cannot post on it again because the Qatar ad immediately pops up and I can’t scroll past it, it won’t go away no matter how long I wait. I have to leave the thread and try again. Each time I try again the ad pops up immediately. I can’t read any of the posts or post another comment. This ad pops up on every thread I have tried to read. It is making the site completely unusable. Like some other pp I have an iPhone. I’m not sure if it is happening to android phones because I couldn’t read the newer posts in the other thread. It also doesn’t have a way to exit or report ad.

Is Mumsnet able to get rid of this ad?

Snap. It's very irritating.

It is having the opposite effect of what advertising should do- it makes me never want to set foot in Qatar.

I have the same issue on an android. It's extremely annoying and making me want to close my account

I thought the issue was fixed because I made it through one whole thread without it appearing. But it has just happened again on a different thread. @RustyNails It’s making me want to close my account too.

Hi there @ImustLearn2Cook (and others). We are looking into this as we speak. If you spot the ad again and are able to, it would be really useful to get a screenshot and to know which thread you were on when you saw the ad. Thank you!

The ad appeared 3 times while I tried to read your post. I took a screenshot. I will try to upload it.

Hi @HebeMumsnet see my above post quoting you. I included a screenshot. This ad has appeared on many threads for me.

Still happening for me too, about every 3rd thread I open it appears and I have to close the page to get it to go away, can’t scroll at all

Thanks, everyone. We think we have managed to block most of these now. Could you try clearing your cookies now? That should sort it but if anyone is still seeing these ads after clearing cookies please let us know. Thank you.
