This site is really slow again.

It takes a minute to load to do anything and it has taken a good 5 minutes to get the last thing I clicked on to come up, click on topic list, click on site stuff and open new thread.

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Call me when it is going at better than a snails pace.

ME too

Buda · 27/04/2008 14:44

It's fine here!

BreevandercampLGJ · 27/04/2008 15:13

Fine here also.

Buda, read your link.

On the flip side, the care Dad had and has had since he left his bladder in Beaumont has been excellent.

However

About 10 years ago DM ended up in BM via A&E with heart failure, she was put on a mixed ward....[vom] and over in the corner was my best friends, sisters FIL, (do keep up) the man was dying, it was plain to see. I had seen it with DH's Mum three months prior and once you have heard the death rattle you never forget it.

Did they move him to a side room ? Did they hell as like.

I want to know where all the F**ing money has gone in that country.

Buda · 27/04/2008 15:34

Oh I know Bree - it is disgusting.

Mam is on a mixed ward too but seems ok about it - I think it is mainly women and they are keeping the men in line! My sis was saying that when she was up on Friday a new woman had just been moved in the they were all give her daggers looks! They are all getting on well and have their little routines going and didn't seem to want her in their little gang!

Quick check in to see how it is doing.

While I have been gone I have made an apple crumble cake for the DC's packed lunches.

Meanwhile, I have bought two multi-packs of Cheese Strings as Sainsburys has them on special. Now who's the Alpha Mummy

CrackerOfNuts · 27/04/2008 17:15

How do you make that NAB ?

NotABanana · 27/04/2008 17:37

Apple Crumble Cake.

Makes 1 loaf. Prep - 45 minutes, I don't think it took me that long. Cooking time 45 minutes. Bang on at 180 in a fan over (not on top shelf)

Ingredients
100g/4oz sugar.
200g/8oz butter & some for greasing.
1/2 tsp vanilla essence.
1 egg.
175g/6oz self-raising flour.
75ml/3 fl oz milk.
425g/15oz tin chopped apple. (I used 2 bramleys)
4 tbsp soft brown suagr (I used 1 as misread and it was fine.)
90g/3 1/2 oz rolled oats.

Heat oven to 180C. Brush the laof tin with oil/melted butter and line with greaseproof paper. Regrease.

In a bowl, beat 100g of the butter and sugar together until the mixture is pale and fluffy.

Break the egg into a small bowl and mix with a fork.

Gradualy add the egg to the butter mixture, beating after every addition. Add vanilla essence. (I used extract as all I had.)

Sift the flour (I never sift) into the bowl and fold in, gradually adding milk until the ingredients are just combined.

Put mixture into loaf tin, making sure the top is level.

Put apples on top of mixture.

Put sugar, remaining butter and oats in a saucepan and stir until utter is melted. Spoon crumble on top of cake and bake at 180 or 45 minutes. Leave for 15 minutes to cool and remove from tin.

Easier if you put a plate on top of cake, flip if over, remove tin and paper, flip back onto another plate.

Emjoy!
