Large Adverts causing constant crash/reloading

I’d love a Bentley, I really would.

However the absolutely massive advert (one of those ones that stays in the centre of the screen in a large gap “behind” what you’re reading as you scroll up so you can’t avoid it.) has suddenly popped up and I can’t use the forums properly. They keep reloading/crashing and then refusing to load at all (error).

Hello @MonkeyRum we're sorry an ad is causing problems. So that we can quickly figure this out, could you please share a screenshot of the ad if/when you see it, as well as the URL of the page you've seen it on?

LilyMumsnet · 13/11/2024 14:00

Hi OP

We have released a permanent fix for this. It's a large fix for all issues relating to ad sizes, so there may be some teething problems. We're hoping this isn't the case, but we'd be grateful if you could keep us updated.

MonkeyRum · 15/11/2024 09:22

Hi,

thank you for fixing it. It’s definitely a lot better now and the crashing has stopped.

Thanks for posting the URL, @RedDiamond - we're taking a look into this one.

Mine is doing this all the time. It is very frustrating. It seems to ve the boots no7 advert that is causing the crash on my screen

AlexandraPeppernose · 15/11/2024 19:45

Still crashing constantly. The ad doesn't seem to matter

It might not cause a crash now but it's bloody irritating. It fills the page and there's no X button to get rid of it so you have to just swipe backwards and lose where you were in a thread.

And on top of that I wouldn't like a Bentley and the male model in it is frankly quite creepy looking.

Mumsnet is the only app my ipad is struggling with. Think it's the adds that are the problem!

I'm not getting huge ads on my phone, but the site is constantly crashing, when nothing else on my phone behaves that way.
