Newbie naming 'system'?

I've noticed - and have seen others comment - about a flurry of names using the 'system' WORD+COLOUR+WORD

Is this an automatic name generation thing for new users?

Hi BIWI. We introduced the suggesting username feature in February. We suggest six randomly created usernames at the reply box, on the create a thread screen and in the user's settings. New joiners have the option to use a name of their choosing or a suggested one and it's not automatic.
