Can I put poster on ignore?

Is it possible to put another poster on ignore? The my wife, my abuser thread was spoiled by a single poster.
Shame, as it was otherwise an interesting discussion.

Hi OP

There isn't a way to block individual posters on the boards, only via private message. Our advice would be to disengage with users that you don't want to be in a discussion with.

You can also report concerning posts to us using the report button. We're always happy to take a look and check everything is above board.

Would you consider implementing this? There are some posters who are very prolific and appear on so many threads spreading misinformation.

Hi there @EntirelyMadeofBosoms . Thanks for your question.

This is something that has come up in the past and we've considered carefully and talked about a lot. We've always come to the conclusion that it wouldn't have any real benefit and would actually make it difficult to follow threads. It also wouldn't have any positive effect over simply ignoring and/or reporting. Actually, it might well mean that people simply continued to behave in this way if people could simple 'turn them off', whereas when bad behaviour on the boards is reported to us we have the opportunity to look at it and talk to the culprits about it.

So that's why we've not gone down that route in the past, but we are always interested in users' views and experiences so thank you for sharing yours. If others would like to add their feelings about it here we'll continue to read.
