I've tried doing the ad choices thing of saying it's repetitive but it takes no notice. It's on every thread on the iOS app and I think it's particularly inappropriate on the Conflict in the Middle East threads!

Glad this has been mentioned- I am also getting it on the iOS app on every thread despite trying to X it out multiple times on the ad choices. It's creepy and it makes me leave the thread just to avoid it but it keeps coming up for me

Do I need to reinstall the app to clear my cache?

I deleted and reinstalled the app and the ad came straight back

You need to clear the cache on your phone I think?

Give it a Google and it should tell you how.

Thanks @MrsDoylesDoily, there's no way to clear the cache on the app that I can see from googling. Deleting it is supposed to do it but it didn't work.

No not the app, your actual phone.

If you Google, it gives instructions on how to clear it on Safari and Chrome.

Hopefully that should do it.

I have also cleared all cache and it is still the not ad I see on every thread! I've reported it and it comes up as soon as I scroll down further.

Hi there @JaneJeffer . The not seeing 'thanks' thing is a separate issue, we think. There's a thread running about that on Site Stuff and we're looking into it now, so don't worry about that.

Sorry to hear you're still getting those ads though. It looks like they're coming through a third party and will be based on previous searches (they have some funny algorithms; we're not suggesting you're regularly looking for balaclavas). If clearing your cache hasn't helped you might want to try reporting to google via the Adchoices logo on the ads when they pop up. It probably won't have an immediate effect but you should see them tailing off over the next few days. Sorry we can't step in and help directly with this one.

I've been reporting them constantly and it doesn't work. I cleared all my history so it can't be based on previous searches either. In any case I have not been searching for military gear It's very annoying and inappropriate.

Now I'm also getting this one which looks very pretty but if you click on it it's not pretty at all!

Saw a man riding a bike wearing one of these on a really windy day last. Could understand why but still scary as hell.

May I suggest using Adblock Browser? Totally eliminates ads.

@JaneJeffer I'm sorry I don't know. I use the mobile site via a browser on my phone, and it works brilliantly for that.
