Did the subject of POLLS ever get resolved? I want to be able to have 'em, with a running total at hte top of the thread (bar chart or something) and room to discuss in normal thread form underneath.

Think it's one of the many things that is still a work in progress. Will see what I can find out.

MamaG · 23/04/2008 12:14

Thanks Abby

Know this is an old thread.

This would be great, so many threads are polls really only its impossible to get a result short of addinng up every comment manually, icods got one on her blog.

Any progress Abbymumsnet?

Pablop · 20/05/2008 13:05

bump

MamaG · 21/05/2008 11:34

I was told they were to discuss it at next meeting

Will add this to the list for the next one as don't think we did actually come to a decision. That said, cant be sure as (whisper it) I wasn't paying 100% attention at the last meeting. Too busy trying to get my laptop to connect to Justine's dodgy internet. Think I ended up using next door's. I'll go and have a look at the minutes and see if it was even mentioned.

MamaG · 21/05/2008 11:57

Thank you

MamaG to the rescuuuuuuuuue!

OOOH and while I've got your attention AbbyMN, if we DO get polls, we could have

"MamaG's pointless poll of the week"

It could be on the roundup

i.e.

Olives - yes or no

Gordon Ramsey or Jamie Oliver

etc

OP posts:
JustineMumsnet · 21/05/2008 13:12

Actually there was a large deal of discussion about this some time ago and the consensus was anti... someone cleverer than me will be able to find the thread I'm sure...

MamaG · 21/05/2008 13:13

but its IMPOSSIBLE to get a vote on a thread, unless you manually count every reply.

Surely we could have polls with the thread underneath?

OP posts:
SheikYerbouti · 21/05/2008 13:29

Please don;t have it so that folk can start poll willy nilly. If we do, I fear the board will be flooded with

Which buggy?
Buggaboo in fanjolene pink

or

Loola in pus yellow?

SheikYerbouti · 21/05/2008 13:30

Although it could be useful in the case of AIBU?

Am I Being Unreasonable?

The answer will always be YES.

Unless I am the OP, natch.

MamaG · 21/05/2008 13:34

Well I think its a resounding piss off anyway sheik

OP posts:
AbbyMumsnet · 21/05/2008 13:57

have flagged up for next meeting

charliecat · 21/05/2008 13:59

no no no.

EachPeachPearMum · 21/05/2008 15:00

We could have a (useless) poll of the day, every day- like they have on the wii!
That would be really good. You get mners to send you the subjects of the poll- and then they could be namechecked.

fryalot · 21/05/2008 16:49

we could have a pointless poll of the day, open to anyone, but the point of it is there is only one

I can see people getting up at 5 in the morning so they can nab the poll of the day spot
