Hide threads with certain keywords

For example, I keep seeing threads with maggots in them 🤮 It really gives me the creeps. I know I can hide threads but I’d like to not have them show up at all, and I’d also not want to have to go into them to hide them manually in case there are photos! (Am on mobile - not the app if that matters). I’ve just gone in and hidden one now that’s trending /shudders I have ASD, no idea if my level of abhorrence is normal or not.

Is this about my thread by any chance? Cos it specifically says maggots in the thread title. It’s gonna be about maggots and there is likely going to be pictures

I quickly hid it so it might be 🤮 But there have been several lately.

You don't need to open any thread you don't want to, posters can also put a sensitive topic warning in their post so people are aware there might be something a bit gross.

Yes what a PP. You can hide any thread by the title and if it really disturbed you cos it has no warning you can contact MNHQ to request a warning

I can’t see how to hide it from the title on mobile (iOS if that matters)? I have to go in to the thread and press the ‘v’ on the upper right and choose hide thread, am I missing something? I of course don’t mean to police what people post or anything like that! Just personally really can’t stand even the word maggots😆

On your phone to the right of every thread title.there will be 3 dots, press it and the hide option comes up . Report your own thread to mnhq and they will tell you what to do

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong as it only has ‘watch’ when I hit the three dots 🤔 Maybe there is a setting to change this…

Aha! That setting was off 🤦🏻‍♀️ I haven’t adjusted those settings, seems like ‘yes’ should be default.

But yes, as others have said, if you do open a thread and unexpectedly see something horrible just let us know. We can add a warning or put a sensitive filter on photos so you have to click to see them.
