Not something I desperately need fixing, but more something that's niggled at my logical brain for years so I thought I'd ask why this happens.
If I've got notifications that an OP has updated their thread on 5 different threads, it just comes up with a little "1" in the red dot on the little person icon at the top right.
For any other notification type, the number is accurate. So if 5 of my posts have been quoted, I get a little 5, if I've been thanked for 3 different posts, it's a 3.
But if I've been quoted 5 times, thanked for 3 posts, and 5 OPs have updated their threads (and a partridge in a pear tree!), so, 13 notifications, I just get a 9.
It's been that way for years and years, so I'm sure there's a good reason for it, but it sets the little nitpicky bit of my brain off every single time, so to shut it up, what is that reason?
