Confused about edit button

Can we only edit certain posts? I can't find the edit button on neither the app nor my laptop.

It's only available for a few minutes after you post.

Not sure about the app though. Never used it but from reading it does seem certain features often aren't available on it.

The 3 dots in the right hand corner of your posts should show an edit function for about 5 minutes after you post. Then it disappears.

Oh I see! Thank you both. I didn't realise it was just for 5 mins after posting.

I think it is so you can correct a typo if you see one after you have posted but you can't return hours, or days later, and change the original post.

Sethera · 27/08/2024 08:11

It's time-limited to stop people going back and changing the context of a post.

What I find frustrating is that, if I edit a post, the font gets so small, one is barely able to read it.

Do others find this too? Or is this just my tablet?

Hi @Tranquiltimes, as other Mumsnetters have explained, the edit function is only available for a few minutes after posting. It's also not currently available on the app, but we're working on it Smile
