Pregnant? Pop up - massively triggering

Balletdreamer · 19/08/2024 21:09

Just got a Mumsnet pop up asking if I’m pregnant and to sign up for messages. Are you kidding me. Please mumsnet leave women to manage their own choices on your site. You know how big an issue infertility is, women don’t come here to have it rubbed in their faces. It’s bad enough the constant demands to explain myself to family, friends and random strangers….

Hi OP

Apologies for any upset caused here. We're keen to look into this and check it's behaving as intended - can you let us know what topic you were in when you saw this?

JabbaTheBeachHut · 19/08/2024 22:37

@LilyMumsnet I got it about 5 minutes ago in the baby names topic.

On a thread called 'Intentionally Misspelling an Irish Name?'

HebeMumsnet · 21/08/2024 11:37

Thanks @JabbaTheBeachHut and @Balletdreamer. Again, we're sorry to hear that this has caused any distress. We do have these prompts to sign up to our newsletters from time to time and they do sound like they are behaving as they should.

These prompts are strategically placed in certain areas of the site where it makes sense to promote them and only should make a limited number of appearances. They should never appear in sensitive topics. If you see one somewhere that very much doesn't look right - for example on the infertility threads - please do let us know and we'll deal with that straight away. Flowers
