In AIBU there are a number of phishing threads about Expedia customer services, can you take a look please?

Lots about Citibank too - mainly in 90 Days Only?

ErrolTheDragon · 22/07/2024 15:44

And another in Spanish...I've reported the ones I've seen as spam.

leeverarch · 22/07/2024 17:13

I've reported about 6 different ones now.

Spammy McSpamface

weefella · 22/07/2024 17:14

Lots of airline ones too.

FadedRed · 22/07/2024 17:16

Yes, so many spam posts at the moment, it’s like an episode of Monty Python.

dementedpixie · 22/07/2024 17:16

Loads in UK travel

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 22/07/2024 17:27

I've just reported about half a dozen of these - they're popping up every couple of minutes in every topic!

AutumnCrow · 22/07/2024 17:32

Every night, every day - they are everywhere.

Bathymamouth · 22/07/2024 17:36

The level of spam recently is making me a bit worried about the back end security tbh of Mn.

OpizpuHeuvHiyo · 22/07/2024 17:37

I've reported these too. They are very tiresome. Each from a different username but presumably it's possible to locate the source?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 22/07/2024 17:42

It's been whack-a-mole the last half hour or so!

AutumnCrow · 22/07/2024 17:47

Well, quite.

I'll never sign up to Premium because of this; and I'm on a throwaway email address.

I've deleted 8 of these stupid threads in the past 20 mins.

AutumnCrow · 22/07/2024 17:50

And in the last 2 minutes I've just deleted another 4, from 'Active' alone.

AutumnCrow · 22/07/2024 18:23

They're still popping up.

ssd · 22/07/2024 18:32

Ive reported stuff too

leeverarch · 22/07/2024 18:46

It's calmed down a bit now - perhaps it's feeding time at the zoo.

MollyButton · 22/07/2024 18:47

Have schools broken up? Or is it a consequence of the software failures last week?

tribpot · 23/07/2024 08:58

The travel agent spammer is back again - now wanting us to know how to contact Amtrak and United Airlines.

I don't think it's to do with schools or Crowdstrike @MollyButton , this travel agency spamming has been going on for a long time. The only real way MN can deal with spamming is improving the registration process. I'd like to see some phrases (like bitcoin recovery) trigger an automatic hide as well.

Hurlingnovice · 23/07/2024 09:00

I think this is is for them to get into Google search results.

Thanks, folks. It was pretty relentless for a while yesterday evening. 😭

Chemenger · 23/07/2024 09:30

Some of these are still there in 90 Days Only.

Iwontlethtesungodownonme · 23/07/2024 10:41

And still now. Ones I reported yesterday.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 23/07/2024 10:42

There are often screamingly obvious AI posts that appear as replies in threads too.

DawnMumsnet · 23/07/2024 11:32

Thanks @Chemenger - and sorry about that, it looks like we missed a few yesterday. We've been through that topic and zapped any remaining spam threads.

Iwontlethtesungodownonme · 23/07/2024 19:42

There are still 9 posts from yesterday and today that I have reported that haven’t been deleted.
