Yes. It's doing my head in.
Village of the damned.

BouleDeSuif · 11/07/2024 18:48

Yes. It's horrible.

Irridescantshimmmer · 11/07/2024 18:59

The reason it's horrible is because the advertiser has used an image of a child who passed away to tragic circumstances.

The image has been edited, hair shortened, added glasses and changed her mouth.

Out of respect for the child and her mother, I will not disclose her name

I contacted Google and asked them to remove it if they can

and the ad needs to be taken down, Mumsnet mods as it's offensive.

Surely not? Do you have a source for this? It seems so insensitive, I can hardly believe it.

I'm with you on this, @ToplessWordle . Surely there are enough little girls on model agency books for the manufacturers to use for their somewhat annoying advert?

Ineffable23 · 11/07/2024 19:32

I've had it as well and it's sort of okay until you realise how it doesn't quite look right and then you can never unsee it!

shellyleppard · 11/07/2024 19:33

It keeps appearing on my feed too......bit creepy tbh. No I haven't looked at any Google sites for glasses either....

Source?

TigathaChristie · 11/07/2024 19:38

I'm not sure that's the case as my DD has these special glasses and it's the same photo on their printed documentation.
Surely they would need permission if that's the case.

Why would they do that, are you absolutely sure thats correct?
