Stopping the limit to posts on a thread?

This has just had the consequence of people whyo should know better trying to censor what other people want to talk about. Surely the opposite of what this site is about. And it's getting worse.

In the old days a new thread would be started anyway if the thread got too big.

People still start new threads once the old ones get filled up, there have been quite a few recently, part2, part3 etc.

OverMyDeadBody · 11/04/2008 11:32

How do you use this to censor what other people want to talk about? Post lots until it gets filled up? That would take ages!

Piffle · 11/04/2008 11:33

not when the trhead in question is at 973 posts

flossish · 11/04/2008 11:33

ah now I understand!

Monkeytrousers · 11/04/2008 15:43

Why should you need to start a new thread?

I was having a debate with Xenia on one and asked for some eviodence to one of her clainms and then this happened and she got off the hook.

It's not only that though. It's just bloody rude. We have always been able to handle terrible events in the media before this without asking MN towers to carroling those who are deemed unsavory into one thread to stop cluttering up the alpha-mumnetters active convo list.

It's almost turning into a caste system.

corraling

I liked carroling people better.. ...bugger off or we'll sing Good King Wenceslas AGAIN!
