'Muuuuuuuuuuuuum!'
or
'Waaaaaaaaaaah!'
Can anybody help me with this annoying computer glitch. It never happens when I'm paying bills online, or composing a boring email. It's been known to crop up when I'm surfing around the Eastenders site in search of my boyfriend mini Den.
If nobody can help me, i'm going to have to properly parent my children, and i'm crap at that.
Any ideas?

Just ignore it and it soon stops.

It's definitely a common bug I'm afraid. None of the common anti-virus software works. I've found that putting children out in garden seems best solution (though it is dark and cold at the monent ).

Earplugs

I think that shouting

Excellent suggestions! Keep 'em coming!
Especially like the get your face washed one - bound to confuse ds1 and ds2, who are 10 and 8, and have long had serious life threatening allergies to clean faces, teeth, brushed hair etc. Perhaps best to combine them all - earplugs in, open backdoor, sing 'La la la la I'mnotlistening I'mnotlistening etc'
Thank God for all you technically minded people!

Repeating, 'yes, ok, in a minute, I am busy right now but I won't be long' can work for up to quarter of an hour on my 7yo. Teletubbies works for the 1yo. Like the face washing one, may try that!

Keep a box of biscuits/chocolate buttons by your PC and throw one over your shoulder every time the glitch starts. I'm not at all technical so I don't know why this works but it does.

duster · 03/01/2005 20:06

lol marthamoo - I will be chucking biscuits out the window! Though v useful as children will be shivering in garden....(note to self - open window or perfect swivel-in-chair-and-open-mouth manouvre immediately after throwing biscuit)
