I've had trouble over the last couple of days with pages jamming, and I've noticed that every time is does there is an Eon Next advert. I suspect this advert is to blame.

Can you do something please?

Hi OP

Please can you click on the advert and get us the URL to it?
A screenshot would also be really helpful whilst we investigate.

It's refusing to appear now! I'll keep trying.

Happened to me too. It's a big red ad and it's killing pages - they become unresponsive and I have to close. Using Chrome.

Also on Chrome. But the advert won't appear now I've flagged it!

Here we go. I can't click on the link because the page completely jams.

Thanks OP.

Couple of questions, how many posts per page are you viewing?
How often are you seeing this advert and can we have a link to the thread you saw it most recently?
Are you using any ad blocker whilst on Mumsnet?

HannibalHeyes · 31/05/2024 18:23

I'm set to 50 per page, but it happens even when there are only a few posts on the page.

It goes in waves, yesterday I was seeing it virtually every time I went on to this thread;

Thread 47 Sunak : The Ship of Fools sails on

Most recently it came up on this thread;

The Rolling Football Thread, season 2023-24 Part 2

I'm using ABP - Ad Block Plus.

This may or may not help
My old laptop - state of the art HP Eleitebook, state of the art when we bought it many years ago gives me problems on most sites with adverts and I cant even see the emojis

However, using a relatively common, new laptop nothing like the previous laptop which was 'state of the art' - the new laptop never has problems on MN or any other site for that matter

Therefore, it is indeed possible that its your laptop etc that is the problem

Btw - the mobile phone - bought two ago an iPhone - its even faster than my new laptop - this reinforces my belief that OP's computer may be the problem - try clearing cookies/histor etc

HannibalHeyes · 04/06/2024 20:46

Well, funnily enough, I haven't had that advert come up since, and haven't had anything jam up since.

I think I've worked out what the problem was...
