I've just had a grisly time trying to recommend a certain format of vitamins on a thread.

The word that seemed to be the problem was:

Bearing in my mind this site is full of menstruating and menopausal women (relevance - deficiencies) and mums to DC with SN (relevance - melatonin), that's a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Are these sets of blocked words bespoke to MN or bought "off the shelf"?

The reason it exists, is because we get a huge amount of spam about gummies. We have this tool to ensure we can review posts before they are published.

I think - not sure - that they're associated with illegal drugs.

It was just irritating. Wouldn't have guessed it's a word that crops up a lot in spam. You learn a new thing every day.

You can buy drug laced versions of sweets like Sourpatchkids.

G u mm ie s can be another word for ‘edibles’ ie cannabis, some legal (CBD) and some technically not (THC) unless you have a prescription (which is usually for pain relief).

I guess they are big business now, from what @LilyMumsnet says.
