Adverts and cookies

I get that you want us to see ads and have companies putting tons of cookies on our phones to ensure this. But seriously I'm surprised anyone uses this forum. You're putting so many on my phone with zero options to remove them (unless I don't enter a Mumsnet webpage again because they just go back on) that my phone overheats and becomes so hot within minutes that it starts to burn my hands. It's ridiculous. Doesn't happen on other sites where it's possible to reject cookies. Your "reject" button comes after you've installed them! So it doesn't work. Neither does the "withdraw consent" button. Managed somehow to get round them for a while but now they're back.

Hi there @WhatIsThatThumpingInTheGarden . We've taken a look at this and the consent management platform message is in line with ICO and GDPR guidelines. Users have the option to withdraw consent, which withdraws consent to all unnecessary advertising cookies.

When you say 'they're back' do you mean you're seeing the consent message again when you have already consented?

I mean that the cookies are back a literal second after they're physically deleted/reject button hit/consent withdrawn button hit. I resorted to blocking the individual sites that were the biggest problem and still they're finding ways to leave their cookies on my device. It's only happening on MN, other sites are fine. Whatever it is, it's causing my device to overheat, which I believe means some kind of malware is trying/succeeding to get through. I don't care what guidelines your buttons meet, the site is causing a problem and I'm tired of it.
