How to read private message

anyone know how i can read a PM sent to me, please.
i clicked on notification, then i could not read it; it was too small, and i could not scroll down.
i could just see who sent it, but not the text.
so annoying.
i tried minimising the zoom but still couldn't scroll down, all i could see was the sender name in v small print.

i have tried to get a screen shot but when i try to PM you, as i don't want everyone reading my PMs, i have the same problem.
i can't get low enough to enter anything in the box to send a PM to you.
i can click on PM above your reply here, but then i cannot scroll down to actually enter anything on the PM page.
and that's if i was even able to attach the screen shot . . .
i am using an asus laptop chrome, presumably the main site.
