There are a load of threads where the title is a question - ‘What is your favourite childhood food’, ‘Where would you like to live’ sort of thing, then the OP gives their very brief answer and then it’s just a long long list of answers from other posters, with the OP never coming back.

They’re mainly by posters who seem to be very new & don’t post anything else. Examples are https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/holidays/5076719-youre-offered-a-free-holiday-but-the-catch-is-it-must-be-somewhere-you-have-never-been-beforewhere-are-you-picking?page=2&reply=135429686 and https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/chat/5068789-what-have-you-gone-off-recently

Edited to add https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/holidays/5079904-apart-from-your-country-of-birthor-live-what-countries-do-you-have-a-soft-spot-for by another poster following exactly the same pattern.

Are they some kind of AI bot?

This has been going on for a while, it's usually a poster who doesn't have any other posts and never returns. To me it's like mindless Facebook threads, I consider MN to be a more intelligent dorum

Hi OP

Thanks for flagging - it does look disingenuous. We're cleaning it up now but if you see anything else, please let us know.

EmpressaurusOfCats · 21/05/2024 21:41

Thanks @LilyMumsnet!

Thanks @BarcardiWithGadaffia . We'll take a look at these now, too.

Yes I've noticed this too. I don't like to always be reporting threads though so I tend to just report ones which are glaringly obvious.

Yes - i reported this poster yesterday! Very irritating when someone does this - they're clearly not here for discussion

Yes - that’s why I waited until I had a bunch of them to all mention in one go.
