Awful advertisement

Please can you get rid of this advertisement? It's on every thread I open up. It's awful.

I thought ads were targeted, so they’re determined by your previous activity?

I keep getting ads for very ugly ballet pumps.

I always thought there is an aspect of being tracked and then the ad tracker company showing things they think will interest you. I don’t believe MN will actually have anything to do with ads, apart from the sponsored posts.

I keep getting adverts for getting a Merc on PCP (nope!), Thaneslink trains (live in the north), new sofas (don’t need one) and cruises (my idea of hell). I presume my online profile suggests I would be interested in those things though.

I can assure you that I don't search for things on the intenet involving Putin Russia or Ukraine.

I have other ads from the same company, along the same lines too.

Agree with this. I keep seeing ads that are exactly what I've recently googled.

I have been getting adverts in languages I don't speak - lots in German and one for a Swedish bank I think?? So nothing to do with my search history. It only happens on mumsnet.

Hello again @TheChippendenSpook. We haven't been able to find this ad for the moment. That may be because it's already been blocked. Could you clear your cookies/cached images and then if it crops up again after that, click on the ad itself (you can do this in incognito mode) and send us the url for the click through?

Hopefully it's gone but if we have the url we can at least block it if it turns up again.

We're just checking if you've seen this advert again since yesterday? If so, please could you confirm whether you've cleared your cookies and cached images? We still haven't been able to locate this 'ad' which could mean it's already been removed, but it will still appear for you until your cached images have been cleared.
