Still not getting the roundup

WanderingTrolley · 29/03/2008 15:04

I did get the mn newsletter this week (hurray!) but am still without roundup (boo!) It's been a month now [DTs]

Just because I'm on here 23 hours a day and probably read each an every posting, blog and profile several times over is no reason to...er...oh.

Ahem.

OK, even though I am spending far too much time on here at the mo, there is a tiny wee chance I might miss a vital thread about weaning spoons or baby toiletries, and I neeeeeed the round up. Please. I don't know what I did wrong but I'm sorry. Pleeeease give me another chance and I'll be funny and helpful and not call anyone a cunt, even if they are one.

WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

Tutter · 29/03/2008 15:05

or the round-up

fnaaaar

fryalot · 29/03/2008 15:05

I didn't get the roundup OR the newsletter this week.

Wonder if they have anyone new working here

Katisha · 29/03/2008 15:06

I haven't seen it for a while either...

RustyBear · 29/03/2008 15:07

Are you on Hotmail? I had to change to googlemail to get it....

WanderingTrolley · 29/03/2008 15:22

It skipped into my hotmail inbox until 29th Feb when, without so much as a farewell, it stopped. No phone calls, no 'it's not you, it's me,' no time spent 'working late.'

I'm gutted.

The newsletter disappeared for about a month too, but appears to have forgiven me.

We have all been emailed to Coventry. Alas.

fryalot · 29/03/2008 15:29

I'm with hotmail too.

perhaps that is the problem.

RustyBear · 29/03/2008 15:31

Get a googlemail address & use it for MN - it's very easy.

YetMoreTech · 29/03/2008 16:44

www.mumsnet.com/talkround/roundup.html

Bingo

WanderingTrolley · 29/03/2008 17:01

Thanks YMT - that's how I've been reading it of late but I want it in my inbox, waaaaaa!

OP posts:
fryalot · 29/03/2008 17:09

ooh, I got a mention

(although I made a mistake, it wasn['t dd2, it was dd1 )

what a pity I don' get to see my mentions in my inbox

morningpaper · 29/03/2008 17:16

HMMMM this IS annoying

All my work slaving over the roundup and you don't get it! Waaah!

fryalot · 29/03/2008 17:18

tis annoying, I just know that I've missed all sorts of amusing quotes.

You know that feeling you get that everyone else is in on the joke....

AbbyMumsnet · 31/03/2008 10:53

Can we get a quick poll of which email provider you're using - hotmail and AOL are notorious for refusing mass mail outs for various, ludicrous reasons.

Threadworm · 31/03/2008 10:56

I'm still not getting mine. Received it fine for months but have missed them all for a month or so. My internet mail service is tiscali.

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/03/2008 11:04

Hotmail are shite.
Get yourself on gmail you luddites.

Peachy · 31/03/2008 11:09

Haven't had mione for a good while either, am with yahoo.

TurkeyLurkey · 31/03/2008 11:20

Wahoo I got a mention! (didn't get the round-up though so thanks for the link!)

Psychomum5 · 31/03/2008 11:30

I seem to be ignored too!

in fact, the last time I received either round-up or news letter was the week before MP's little girl went into hospital and so of course thought that that was the reason (which that week I think it may ave been), but since then....nothing, nada, not even a 'hello'!!!!

I am hotmail tho, so maybe it is my email??

MissusH · 31/03/2008 11:31

I haven't had it for the past few weeks - am on a works email address (DHL)

It normally lets all sorts of cack through, but obviously has an issue with quality mailouts such as this

TigerFeet · 31/03/2008 11:33

I've not had it either... hotmail [gah]

AbbyMumsnet · 31/03/2008 12:19

Hi, I've flagged this up to the tech team, but suspect there's not a huge amount they can do, other than suggest you change your email provider!

WanderingTrolley · 31/03/2008 15:04

Thanks Abby.

Odd thing is that I was getting it fine (ooer missus etc) until 29th Feb, when the roundup sent its last. MN newsletter has returned, after a short spell of ignoring me.

Anyhoo, yes I am on hotmail.co.uk, rather than .com - would that make a difference?

OP posts:
southeastastra · 31/03/2008 15:06

haven't had mine for a few weeks, hotmail too but it never had any trouble in the past at all.

nannynick · 31/03/2008 15:14

Sounds to me as though Hotmail may have decided to filter the messages.
Hotmail may have deleted the messages before you even got a chance to see them, or they may have been put in your Junk/Spam folder.

Not sure what e-mail address is being used to send out messages at present... last one I got (Mumsnet Parenting Newa) came from: [email protected]
So you could try adding that address to your address book - may help Hotmail realise that you actually do want mail from that sender.
