Why was the default changed? It's incredibly irritating when viewing the website from a mobile phone as you can see about 3 different thread titles before having to scroll through the webpage.

We've been rolling it out to more topics recently, which is why the default was changed yesterday. You can change this anytime in your Mumsnet talk settings.

But why? There is also the saying if it's not broke then don't fix it. Its too cluttered and makes it really hard to see where the threads are.

The new style is really crap. Please make the old one the default!!

Yeah @LilyMumsnet i do agree with the other posters here. What was the rationale behind changing the style? I know you can change the setting back to the old one. But why change it in the first place? IMHO the new one is awful. I use Mumsnet on my phone and it takes up far too much space on the screen. The one is far better.

The worst bit is if you use the back button to return to the list of threads, the expanded view takes you back to the top then you have a long scroll back down to where you were. That’s really annoying.

Hi all. The aim of OP view is to make it easier for MNers to understand what a thread is about. Many users do prefer this but we've given people the option to revert as a default.

A threaded view would make it even easier (and help avoid squirrels).
