Message notification on the app

I use the iPhone app. The desktop browser looks like something from the 90s but as an app user I feel like im receiving a second class service. I just found messages from 2 years ago when I logged into the desktop browser. Why are we not notified of this via email like the new thanks? Why can we not add thanks etc on the app? I found the messages as I had to log in via the browser from an email re thanks.

You shouldn't have any issues receiving email notifications about private messages - can we check that your settings are ticked to receive these? It is a case of accessing from the mobile or desktop site but you can still opt in for notifications.

In the meantime, we're in the process of updating our apps and we'll post more about this when we can. It's not something we have a timescale for just yet.

Im opted in to receive notifications but I rarely (1/10) receive them for the usual stuff such as quoting and tagging so there is an issue there too - now you mention it

Me again! I've checked desktop browser in the section "more settings" and have now turned it on. This should be an opt out I feel. Or available as an option on the app. If I have chosen to download the app, I'm likely using the app only. Gone are the days we sat on a computer for such joys.
