There is a very nasty culture of bullying on MN at the moment, something should be done about it, it can damage the mental health of some posters

You can report anything you don’t like. MN won’t allow personal attacks to stand. TBH the internet isn’t a great place for anyone who doesn’t have robust mental health.

ADoggyDogWorld · 08/03/2024 14:15

Yes do report any post you feel crosses the talk guidelines.

We do well to remember that MN is not a 'safe space'.

WhatNoRaisins · 08/03/2024 14:18

I think you've got to be careful about what you share, I wouldn't share anything I felt too sensitive about.

ColleenDonaghy · 08/03/2024 14:28

I don't think it's any different ATM. It's never been a place for wishy washy comments.

DrSpartacular · 08/03/2024 14:29

Report personal attacks.

Avoid AIBU.

Don't be a twat. MN has never suffered twats gladly.

AutumnCrow · 08/03/2024 14:46

OP, are there any particular boards you're thinking of? AIBU can be awful.

BIWI · 08/03/2024 14:55

Also, bear in mind that being disagreed with, even forcefully, isn't bullying.

Yes good point, BIWI.

theduchessofspork · 08/03/2024 15:19

Just report it?

LilyMumsnet · 08/03/2024 15:22

Hi OP

Thanks for sharing your concerns with us.

We would ask that if you spot this happening on the boards, you report it to us using the report button. We're not pre-moderated and we rely on reports to let us know what's happening.

We're always more than happy to have good look at what's going on and we take reports of bullying very seriously. If a post doesn't outwardly break talk guidelines by itself, it doesn't mean that we can't keep a close eye on someone's posting style (or have a dig behind the scenes).

So please do get in touch via reports if you see anything - we'd be happy to have a discussion about it.
