A thought about decluttering and how mumsnet could help

So just seen someone offering an old iPhone handset to someone in need (if all is genuine)

And it got me to thinking, the size mumsnet is, there must be a way of harnessing that so people can give away stuff they don't want/ need?

I dont know how it could work, but there used to be a secret santa that people toom part in, maybe pay for postage....?

I used to take part in the secret santa and then realised some people were receiving many gifts from different people. There were other reasons it was stopped but I can’t remember why.

Just gift things in local groups, there’s always someone that lives close in need rather than using MN.

If there's good quality things you want to get rid of and help people at the same time... Donate to local Womens Shelters / Kids Charity Shops or give away yourself on Freecycle / Facebook whatever.

No need to fudge a Mumsnet System when the systems already exist.

Hi OP

Thanks so much for the suggestion! We're happy to discuss this in the office and keep an eye on interest level.
