Strange layout on certain topics?

Has anyone else noticed the strange layout in certain topics?

Usually I see he normal layout of the thread title in blue text with each thread alternating with a white/ blue background, all good.

But I have noticed on a few topics this has changed, I have not checked then all, but Money Matters and The Doghouse specifically. The loist of threads shows all in black text, with a really large thread title, with the first few lines of the posters text showing bellow the thread title.

It also opens into a new window when you click on the threads in these topics, but not on the normal style threads.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is it meant to be happening?

Yes I've had to stop reading the money matters and Christmas topics as it's so annoying.

MNHQ think it's an improvement and might bring it in over the whole site

For now you can turn it off permanently in your talk view settings!

You can toggle it on and off at the top of the affected boards.

I'd rather it was off permanently (if my opinion counts for anything). I'd certainly hate it and it would affect my decision to browse the site at all if it was permanent, on every board, and I was unable to turn it off completely.

There is a little arrow next to 3 black lines at the top of these topics where you can change it back from "OP view" to "Compact view."

I noticed it on the Christmas topic.

I don't know what it's in aid of though. Looks horrible and is harder to read.

MNHQ, if you read this PLEASE don't make this site wide, it is TERRIBLE!

Hello @missmollygreen this is a new layout option called OP view. From initial feedback, MNers told us that you'd like to be able to switch between OP and classic view. You'll can do this by using the icon on the page, but now you can also choose a default view in your Talk settings.

Let us know if you need any help with that.

So glad I found out how to remove it!
I was also avoiding the boards with that view.
