What is the point of having gifs if you're just going to delete them @MNHQ?

It is ok to not understand something that is @‘d in response to someone else. More so when one was an apology.

Not ok to report it because you don’t respond to demands for an explanation because they don’t understand and then call it schoolgirl bully tactics on another thread.

There doesn't need to be. I don't know what thread you're talking about here but I've definitely seen GIFs used as passive aggressive personal attacks before. Just because it's in gif form doesn't make it ok.

MN provide the gifs so I presume they're the right size already

What makes it worse is that I can't post them from the app so have to go on desktop especially only for them to be deleted. Pointless exercise.

As I said, I don't know which thread this was or what happened - I can't comment on that at all. But the idea that GIFs can't be deleted because there's nothing in the talk guidelines about them is silly.

I don't think wanting a proper explanation instead of a generic one is silly or how am I to know what the problem is?

Hey @JaneJeffer we've checked and must admit we're not entirely sure why your post was deleted. 😬It may have been a mistake but we're looking into it now and will drop you a line.

Wrt GIFs generally - it's pretty much along the lines of our usual guidelines. If a GIF was used as a part of a PA or otherwise insensitive, for example, we'd delete it like we would any other post

Oh and just to say, as @ArcaneWireless mentioned here, her gifs were also deleted for no apparent reason. Someone on the RF threads seems to be reporting all the posts containing gifs.

I just want to add that getting posts deleted like that makes it look as though the deleted poster said something terrible (in my case about the PoW) when they were just making a joke.
