Changed look for some boards

Most boards look the way they've always looked since the refresh, but Education and Primary look different - see screenshot. Is there a reason for this?

Hi @prh47bridge

What you're seeing is the new 'OP view' which we've been rolling out on several topics over the past few weeks.

From initial feedback, many of you told us that you'd like to be able to switch between OP and classic view. You can do this by clicking on the square icon at the top right of the topic page (next to where it says Most recently updated) or you can choose a default view in your Talk settings.

Hope that helps but please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hi Jo

Thanks for your response. I can't say I like the new look but each to his own. As long as the compact view is still available, I'll use that. If this is going to be rolled out generally, it would be nice if I could set compact view as a preference rather than have to switch once I've opened a board. Things I particularly don't like about OP view:

  • In compact view I can tell which threads I've looked at because the link is in a different colour. In OP view there doesn't seem to be any obvious way to tell if I've looked at a thread - the link text is always black.
  • Clicking on a thread opens it in a new tab. I seriously don't like that. If I want a link to open in a new tab, I can do that myself. If you force links to open in a new tab, you've made that choice for me and there is no way I can override it. My view is that this is a poor user experience.

Hello @prh47bridge thanks for your feedback - we'll certainly consider what you've said. You're able to set the view to compact on all boards in your Talk settings - Jo has posted the link above. Let us know if you've any problems doing that.

I have seen this on the property board and find it highly irritating. It is too many words and too busy for me to look at and so I change it back to compact view. The annoying problem is it defaults back to list view every time you click a post. I really don't like it at all.
