I would like a reply to the "Reply" issue

Just thought I'd start another thread to get more attention on this again as there has been no answer as to whether it is even being looked at.

A few comments on MNHQ's recent thread about the new feature pointing out nobody asked for that but a lot of us have asked you to fix this.

To summarise: The button marked Reply does not do what it says. It adds a post, it does not do a reply. MN has no reply feature but, bizarrely, chooses to have a button that pretends it does. This leads to threads full of "replies" that have no context and are impossible to follow. Plus posts saying "sorry, not sure why my reply didn't work, I clicked reply"

I've started asking OPs to use the quote function.

Someone told me off on a thread yesterday. They told me they were sick of seeing my posts about it.

I’ve been asking too.

I'm thinking of trying to join every single thread as.often as I can and try to be the first person to reply with a cut and paste post explaining that Reply doesn't work.

Anyone want to join me?!

If you write the post to be C & P'd I'll do it for sure.

I don't care if some posters moan at me.

Please note: The Reply button on here does not work. If you use it you will not actually reply to that post but create a new post not linked and nobody will be able to follow the conversation.

Please use Quote (under the three dots) instead or copy part of the post you want to reply to and put it between asterisks to make it bold.

I was just about to quote that.
She was replying to me asking her to quote people lol.

And shortly afterwards I was berated for telling people that their thread made no sense if they didn't quote.

Ha! I have just used the C & P again and it actually went down well.

It's a public service.

That PSA i great and should be pinned to every thread until they sort out the issue!

MN have said now that if people ask they’ll add a Please RTFT message on an OP.

Maybe the thing to do here, instead of posting the message on unintelligible threads each time, is to report an example post from the thread, include the message in the report & ask them to post it.
