Advert making me rotate screen

I use a tablet in landscape format as it has a built in stand and I use the website not the app, to try and reduce adverts.
All good until this morning when I keep getting a blank, black box appearing. It's only in threads, not on the home page and is headed advertisement and tells me to rotate my screen and virtually blocking out the page. I can see just what's above and below it but not what's behind the box unless I rotate to portrait. At the bottom of the black box it says keep scrolling to continue.
No advert appears until I have scrolled up a bit in portrait mode then I get a massive Sky advert that sort of moves up the page in a weird way so I think it's this that's the problem.
Any ideas anyone or is it telling me to get off MN and get a life?

I don't have any technical advice but I will say that I stopped using MN on my tablet (and laptop) as the the ads were so intrusive and glitchy, but I haven't found it to be a problem on my phone.

Here's a screenshot. It isn't a URL. It just covers the screen then disappears if I rotate to portrait.

Oh and it's a Lenovo Yoga tab and Chrome. Its been random all day, sometimes appearing and sometimes not and it's just come up on the home page too.

Sorry OP, we mean can you click the blank square and see where it takes you? Or is there no click-through? This seems isolated at the moment but can assure you we are looking into it and want to get to the bottom of it ASAP. Thank you so much for the SS!

No nothing happens I have tried clicking all over it but there's nothing there. It's got worse this evening and I am sure it's the Sky advert. It seems to take over the page even on portrait which I have never had before. It also seems to have the same writing at the top and bottom. I will try and screenshot again next time it comes up.

Ah, no worries OP. Thanks for all the information - we're on it. Can we just ask, are you using an ad blocker?

Don't think so. I haven't set one up as I really hadn't been bothered with ads enough to need it.
It's so annoying as the Yoga tablet is really not comfortable to use in portrait mode.

I have the same problem on my fire kindle, it's annoying enough to make me not look at mumsnet
