Sometimes at night, If I couldn’t sleep I used to have a quick look at mumsnet.
Can’t now though - you can’t have a look at the threads without auto adverts that come up and break the noise limit. So counter productive, I get that adverts are needed to provide an income stream. But noisy adverts that just bast at you without warning are the pits !
Own Goal mumsnet!!!

Can't you just turn the sound on your phone off?

Mumoftwotoddlers · 30/10/2023 19:09

Go into browser settings and disable autoplay adverts or set them to play without volume

Hi OP

We're sorry about this - can you give us an example of an advert with a screenshot if possible? We'll start looking into it right away.

Fifiesta · 30/10/2023 20:55

Like this - sound automatically comes on very loudly. Most have been car adverts.

Hi again @Fifiesta - thanks for posting that screenshot.

We've been looking into this and it seems that this is a problem largely for tablet users. We're working on a solution to that right now - it may not be immediate but you shouldn't find it's a problem long term.

In the meantime, if this or any other noisy ad appears again, we'd be grateful if you could click on the ad to grab the URL - that will help us to track them down and deal with them more quickly. Thank you.
