Reporting another user (unwanted PMs)

What happens if you report another user? Is it anonymous or are they informed why they have been reported and by whom?

Thanks in advance.

There’s a section under settings where you can block PM’s. I wouldn’t think MNHQ would let the sender of the PMs know who reported them.

No, you would hope not!

Thank you for your reply.

Was it on the sex topic? If so, MNHQ have been very specific that unwanted PMs aren't allowed.

You definitely should report them - but I think it would be fair to say that if/when that poster gets a 'Mumsnet calling' email, they will realise that it's you who must have reported them. Always assuming that you're the only person they've PM'd of course.

They certainly won't be told it was you who reported them - but that doesn't mean they won't be able to work it out. (But don't let that stop you reporting them!)

Yes it was from the sex topic!

Please do report if you feel you can @Osirus.

Many of us have had unwanted PMs from the sex board posters, there seems to be a lot of creeps with no boundaries over there unfortunately.

Mumsnet wont tell the person who has reported them, but as a pp said, they may be able to work it out.
