Trigger warnings. Can the trigger warning be the FIRST part of the thread title please?

MNHQ added a trigger warning to a thread title earlier (thread has now been pulled). I didn't see the trigger warning as it was the second sentence in the thread title and so didn't display on my phone. I don't know if this is due to how my phone displays mumsnet. Maybe it varies with different gadgets, app versus browser etc but I didn't see the trigger warning and really really wish I had! 😔

I did comment about this on the thread but it's gone now.

Please can it be a thing that "trigger warning" is the first thing typed (or edited in) to a thread title?

I'll add a screenshot. On the trending threads display section on my screen like this screen shot, if the thread title is long like the 3rd one down "to tell you about my awkward...." you can see on the screenshot, that you can't see the full thread title. So the trigger warning being at the end of a long thread title is problematic.

Hi @Hickry . Thanks for getting in touch. It's a bit of a tricky one. We tend to put it after the main thread title as it makes more sense there, rather than foregrounding the trigger warning. Also, in the scenario you've outlined, when the thread is in the trending box, if we put the warning first, all anyone would be able to see is the trigger warning, rather than the thread title. In the main active threads box, users should be able to see both title and warning, so no problem there.

Hopefully, even if someone does click on a thread from trending and doesn't spot the warning, they'll see it as soon as the thread loads as it opens up on the title and we try to make sure trigger warnings are highlighted, asterisked etc so that they're visible as soon as you open the thread. So it should be visible before any of the posts, even if the triggering material happens to be in the OP.

We appreciate there's maybe no perfect solution though and we will give it some thought and see if we can come up with anything new here.

Thanks again. Flowers

Hmm. Disappointing response tbh.
