Dear Mumsnet, I'd like an answer to this please.
Are you using AI to make posts?
Justine is on record as saying when the site started she got friends to post things, to get stuff going. Some of the posts now seem a bit AI and I was wondering whether you are trying it out. If you are or you're not, it would be interesting to know.

Hi there @Aintgotthatswing. Thanks for getting in touch, and no, that's not something we'd do. If we start threads for any reason, eg for making announcements about new products and features, it would always be clear it was from MNHQ. Things were probably very different in the early weeks of the site, but these days, with more than 30,000 posts a day, we'd just be making work for ourselves if we were starting threads of our own!

We can't of course say with 100% certainty that genuine users don't ever use AI to create their posts, but we're generally ok with that as long as they <are> genuine posters. We know that some people find it harder than others to word a post well, or find getting things down in print difficult, so we wouldn't be surprised if some of our users found AI makes that aspect of starting a thread easier for them.

If we felt AI were being used in posts with nefarious intent, however, for example to spam or troll, we'd delete it as we would any posts where we had those suspicions.

Hope that answers your question. If you ever have doubts about a thread, do just hit the report button and we can take a look.
