One week for MN to "look at it"

Tabitha1960 · 08/09/2023 16:33

Over a week ago, I posted about a very traumatic experience that happened to me two weeks ago. It was painful to write it, which I did with tears running down my face, and asked if I was BU to expect the police to help me.

I received loads of replies, mostly helpful and kind, then one poster wrote that she found my experience hard to believe (so did I - but it happened).

She must have reported it as untrue, because suddenly it disappeared and has this message:

"This thread has been hidden until the MNHQ team can have a look at it."

This was over a week ago! Why has it still not been "looked at"?

What most concerns me is that I stupidly did not copy and paste it before posting, and as it took me ages to relate my experience and I want to post it elsewhere and also to use it for the basis of a police complaint, I want access to my OP, which I cannot get.

I'm a long term member, and occasional poster, and my post was 100% genuine. It feels outrageous that my entire thread including useful advice (possibly) that I was not allowed to read, has been hidden, for no reason. Nobody was named and no site rule was broken.

Can someone from MN look at it and restore it please?

I think if you're a long term member and poster it's a bit did you're not given the benefit of the doubt when people report to be honest.

OP I would send mn an email to contact [email protected] and query this.

I’ve reported threads in the past and MN Hq have come back to me and said that they understand my concerns but that the OP is a long-term poster and they have no reason to doubt them based on their previous posting history etc.

So if you’re a long term poster then MN HQ will be able to see it.

OOps after posting I found a message from MN buried in my email inbox and have replied to it.

Turns out they had so many reports, NOT about my post, but about abusive replies to my post, that they felt I would get too upset by them, so hid it.
